Alex Tieghi-Walker
New York City–based Alex Tieghi-Walker is a curator, gallerist, and cultural programmer, and the founder of TIWA Select, the Tribeca gallery he established in 2020. Known for a bold, materials-driven programme, his work challenges traditional gallery models and bridges contemporary art, design, and craft.

Before founding TIWA Select, Alex spent over a decade working in design journalism and creative direction. Raised between Italy and Wales, he contributes to publications including Apartamento, Dazed, Fantastic Man, and Wallpaper*, and has consulted for institutions and brands such as Barber Osgerby, Conran & Partners, Mulberry, The Judd Foundation, and Tate.
Alex has curated exhibitions internationally, including The North American Pavilion (2023), a collaboration with Frieze’s No.9 Cork Street that brought together North American galleries in a salon-style format. In 2025, he curated programming for the Brompton Design District at the London Design Festival, inviting designers to respond to the theme “A Softer World.”
His practice is shaped by a long-standing interest in folk craft, the handmade, and material experimentation, with storytelling at its core.
